Environmental Policy of Ramenka

LLC Ramenka, founded in Moscow in 1997, providing sales of food and non-food in “Ramstore” supermarkets and hypermarkets considers environmental protection and health of people to be a priority of the activities and essential part of modern business focused on long duration success.

Carrying out an active regional policy company management realizes that ever-widening retail trade has some certain impact over environment and takes a responsibility to reduce this impact.

Environmental management system complying with ISO 14001 standard is implemented and is being continuously improved and is based on the following principles:

Commitment to comply with applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which the company subscribes;
While working out the development strategy of the company environmental policy is taken into consideration;
Provision of personnel and other means for performing assumed commitments to ensure sufficient functioning of environmental management system;
Minimization of any negative environmental impacts from new elaborations by using integrated EMS-procedures and planning appropriative arrangements;
Optimization of processes, implementation of energy-saving and resource-saving technologies, reduction and prevention where possible adverse environmental impacts;
Risk of emergency situations that can have an adverse impact on the environment prevention;
Environmental monitoring on a regular basis and objective appraisal of environmental impacts;
Communication about environmental activities of the company to all interested parties

Every employee of the company is responsible for improvement in the field of the preservation of the environment and performs his job according to his functions.

In March, 2005, Ramenka Company got a certificate confirming the accordance of company’s ecology management with ISO 14001 international standard. Certification audit was conducted by the experts of Bureau Veritas Quality International, an independent international company.

DAT Consulting Company assisted to carry out the project on the introduction of ecology management system started in June, 2004.

Within the framework of the environmental management system environmental objectives are set for the Company. Thus, now we aim at the increase of the recycled wastes volume against the entire wastes volume produced by the Company, and increase environmental awareness of the staff.
