“Ramenka” LLC
Ramenka Company was founded in Moscow in 1997. Its founders are ÊÎÑ Holding, the
largest Turkish industrial-trade-financial conglomerate, and the Turkish Building
Company Enka. Ramstore retail chain exploits the know-how of Migros Turk, the owner
of the widest store chain with over 700 hyper- and supermarkets in Turkey.
Ramenka’s stores
In 1997 Ramenka opened its first shopping mall in Moscow. At present, Ramenka runs
55 stores under the Ramstore brand name:
- 10 shopping malls and 32 super- and hypermarkets in Moscow and the Moscow Region;
- 22 hypermarkets and supermarkets and 1 trade center in the Russian regions.
On the 23d of December 2002 in the North of Moscow, in 1B, Pravoberezhnaya
Street, Ramenka opened its largest shopping mall Ramstore-City with the total area
of 72,000 square meters. This is the largest trade object of the chain for the present
moment. Apart from Ramstore hypermarket with the total area of 8,750 square meters,
there are 130 boutiques, 15 fast food restaurants, amusement park for children,
and the only IMAX cinema in Russia.
On the 6th of November 2003, Ramenka opened its first Trade Center
in the city of Podolsk, the Moscow Region. Its total area is 16,000 square meters,
2,400 of which are allocated for the hypermarket.
October 13, 2005 Ramstore shopping mall with the total area of
55,500 square meters was opened in Sevastopolsky Prospect. Besides Ramstore hypermarket,
the shopping mall houses a multiplex cinema Formula Kino, food-court, and over 60
tenants.
December 2, 2006 Ramstore Capitol multi-purpose trade center opened
in Moscow at 6 Prospect Vernadskogo, with the total area of 130,000 sq m, making
it the largest object of the chain in Russia.
Regional Policy
Ramenka is very active in expanding into the regions. In 2003, Ramstore hypermarkets
were opened in Krasnoyarsk, Kazan and Nizhniy Novgorod. In 2004,
new trade objects were opened in Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg, Samara.
In 2005 Ramenka actively developed its chain in Kazan and Saint Petersburg, and
entered the market of Volgograd. In 2005 the company opened the record number of
stores in Moscow and in the regions – 17. We opened 4 trade objects in Kazan, 3
– in St Petersburg, a hypermarket in Volgograd, a hypermarket in
Volzhsky, 2 supermarkets in the Moscow region – in Krasnogorsk and Chekhov, 6 trade
objects in Moscow.
- February 25, 2006, Ramenka Company opened the first Ramstore supermarket
in Ufa, which became the 50-th, jubilee, trade object of the chain in Russia. The
supermarket with the total area of 2 600 sq m. is located in Mir trade complex in
one of the main arterial roads of the city – Prospect Oktyabrya.
- April 18, 2006 a new supermarket was opened in St Petersburg in:
11-A, Ul. Sedova. The supermarket with the total area of 3,600 has become one of
the anchor tenants of Evrika trade-business center.
- June 3, 2006 the third Ramstore trade object was opened in Samara
in MEGACITY shopping center. The total area of the hypermarket is 8,000 sq m.
- June 3, 2006 Ramenka opened already the 6th store in Kazan – supermarket
with the total area of 1,300 sq m in Ul. Glavnaya (Derbyshki settlement).
- August 12, 2006 Ramenka opened its third trade object in the Volgograd
region – a hypermarket in Diamant trade and entertainment center.
- August 19, 2006 first Ramstore hypermarket was opened in Stavropol
in 61 Dovatortsev Street. Its total area is 4,500 sq. m. It has become the 58th
store of Ramstore retail chain in Russia.
- August 25, 2006 the company opened the first Ramstore hypermarket
in Lipetsk. The store location is 124a Studionovskaya Str., at Lipetsk trade and
entertainment center.
- September 02, 2006 Ramstore hypermarket was opened in Murmansk
at Forum trade and entertainment center.
- September 30, 2006 Ramenka opened the first Ramstore supermarket
in Naberezhnye Chelny, located at 49a Pr. Mira, Palitra shopping center.
- December 2, 2006 the first Ramstore supermarket opened in Saratov
at: 150, Zarubina Str., in Vash Dom shopping complex.
- December 22, 2006 Ramenka opened its first supermarket in Vologda
located in Apelsin shopping center at 105 Karla Marxa Str.
Ramenka intends to expand its retail chain in some regions where it is already represented,
but also will enter new markets: Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Tiumen,
Smolensk, Sochi, Irkutsk, Togliatti, Tver, Reutov, Kirov, Sergiyev-Posad, Orehovo-Zuyevo
Trade Format
Ramstore chain is distinguished by a variety of formats – trade centers, hyper-
and supermarkets, and convenient stores. According to the trade format, the assortment
of a store may include from 10 to 45 thousand articles of goods.
Club cards
Ramenka was the first retail company that successfully implemented the system of
Club Cards in May 1999. Today there are over 1 million Ramstore Club Card holders.
According to the company's estimates, sales volumes on Club Cards account for 70%
of the overall sales volume. The Club Card can be easily purchased at any of Ramstore
stores for only 25 rubles.
The Club Card system differs from the ordinary discount system. The club card holder
who makes a purchase gets not a fixed discount that is usually 3-5% but can purchase
goods 20-30% cheaper. The Club Card discount varies depending on the product. The
information about those products which have a discount is available in the special
regularly renewed promotional flyers in any of regional or Moscow stores. Card holders
can also take part in lotteries and prize drawings.
Private Label Goods
Our Company was the first to introduce Ramstore PL goods to the Russian market back
in 2000.
As of today, Ramstore PL total assortment is around 350 SKUs. The ratio of food
and non-food private label products is roughly 65% to 35% as a percentage of sales.
At present, there are the following goods sold under the Ramstore brand: mineral
water, milk, butter, eggs, ketchup, pasta, mayonnaise, pelmeni, oils (sunflower,
olive, and corn), juices, instant coffee, flour, cereals, sugar (lumps and granulated),
sour-cream, mustard, dry squids and other snacks, paper napkins and toilet paper,
washing powder and softeners for clothes, cleaning powder, coal, frying pans, waste
bags, iron liquid, sponges, cleansers for washing machines, textile goods: bed-linen,
towels, socks and some other items.
